Keep pets on a leash- It’s the Law

As many of you know we have had some unfortunate events happen over the years and more recently with dogs getting hurt, and some killed because they are loose and not on a leash. We have also had numerous cases of dogs roaming the neighborhood and owners missing their dogs because these dogs are let out without a leash.

As a very important reminder: All dogs must be on a leash at all times when off the owners premises. Please see O’Fallon Animal Control Ordinances below:

Animal Codes and Ordinances
210.020

The City of O’Fallon’s leash law requires that pets that are off the owner’s premises be kept on a leash and under the owner’s control at all times.

2. Shall not permit the animal to be at large within the city limits.

The Master Board of Directors and Condominium Board of Directors have received complaints about dogs on the loose or let out without a leash.

As a reminder, we have a great dog park in our community that is off Springhurst Parkway across from English Ivy Road. No dogs should be let loose in the open parking lots/open field at the front of the subdivision (Brook Spring Ln and Brook Forest Dr) to run and play. This is very dangerous. Please use the off leash dog park in our subdivision for this purpose.

Thank you for keeping our animals, and residents safe.
