Reminder: Fireworks are illegal in the City of O’Fallon
Per Section 215.690 of the City code, the sale, use and distribution of fireworks is prohibited. Review the City ordinance here.Violators may be subject to a summons and confiscation of their fireworks. Please celebrate the Independence Day holiday safely, legally and respectfully of your neighbors.
Every year we have a large group of people who celebrate with fireworks. Some fireworks land on roofs and start fires. This is extremely dangerous. Some use the empty parking lots, leaving behind trash and firework debris . Do not leave firework trash. We have young children and pets that can be harmed by this. It also brings home values down, when we leave trash laying around.
We also have had dumpster fires in years past. This is extremely dangerous, and cost money to clean up. Who ends up paying for it? You do. Please be considerate of your neighbors, do not use fireworks. We hope that you go and enjoy a professional fireworks display in many of our cities holiday events.
